Hey there! Thanks for dropping by CathyOlooBlog! Take a look around and grab the RSS feed to stay updated. See you around!
I miss the crazy “matatus”
I managed to take this matatu (bus) to the city center and walked to U of Nairobi (only making one wrong turn which thankfully I figured out pretty quickly). Managed to find my way back to the drop/pick-up site too after stopping at Tusky’s for more tea. I told the Professor that I am working under that I was taking the matatu to and from Mgumbu where I am staying and he seemed surprised (maybe even shocked) that this mzungu was doing this alone. A few of my rules: pay attention to surroundings, keep your hands on your pack, and hide the valuable/important stuff. I am not so embarrassed now that I bought one of those little waist packs that you wear under your clothes; I had in down around my hips under my jeans – no one’s going to get in there!!!
I am so much proud of you honey. I cant wait to be in Nairobi with you. Love you.
NB/ You are staying in GUMBA.
She resides in NGUMBA
